Top 11 Android Phones to Buy in India (2013)

Top 11 Android Phones in India (2013)

1. HTC One : The best Android smartphone in the market today. Excellent build and design, backed by performance.

2. Samsung Galaxy Note 3 : We all knew it was coming, but now its official – the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is here. Toting a new and improved faux leather back, that’s available in a myriad of colours, as well as a 5.7-inch full HD display, this is the ‘phablet’ to beat. Samsung has also beefed up the software features, adding in an improved S-Note app and useful quick menu. Powering this rather large device is quad-core processor, paired with 3GB of RAM and you’ll have a choice between 32GB or 64GB of internal storage.

3. Sony Xperia Z1
The latest flagship phone from Sony, and taking over from the pretty impressive Xperia Z, the Z1 is a powerhouse – both in terms of processor and camera. Under the svelte chassis is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor, whilst taking care of the all important photos is a 20.7 megapixel camera with Exmor RS tech and a BIONZ image processor. It’s fully waterproof, svelte looking and packing an impressive, 1080p display.

4. Samsung Galaxy S4

The Samsung Galaxy S4 is certainly a smartphone of great beauty and is packed with features that make it an improvement on the Galaxy S3. Jumping from a 4.8-inch display to an almost Note-like 5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display, the Galaxy S4 promises 441 ppi which is a massive jump in terms of clarity. The impressive 13-megapixel camera puts it up with the Xperia Z in terms of snapping and while it's not packing an Octocore processor, quadcore power is more than enough to power the S4, just not enough to topple the HTC One.

5. Google Nexus 4

Swapping Samsung for LG, the latest Nexus sports a 4.7-inch IPS display with a screen resolution of 1280x768 putting it up with the S3 in terms of clarity and vibrancy. Running Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, the Nexus 4 gets to reap the benefits of more cards for Google Now and the ability to take 360 degree photos amongst other new features. There's a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor to take care of performance and it even packs wireless charging.

6. Sony Xperia Z Ultra

With a 6.4 inch screen, the Sony Xperia Z Ultra is definitely not a device to slip into your skinny jeans, yet it packs some serious punch in the specs department. Its waterproof, weighs just 212 grams and the screen is Triluminos with X-Reality technology for ultra crisp viewing. Providing the power for this beast is a Snapdragon 800 processor which is paired with 2GB of RAM so performance should be silky on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. To avoid you feeling ever so self-conscious using such a large device for actually making phone calls, Sony has also announced an NFC compatible Bluetooth handset to make things a little easier.

7. LG G2

LG's latest flagship smartphone is going toe-to-toe with Samsung's Galaxy S4 - in both specs and the wide variety of added features LG has decked this device out with. From a guest mode to automated phone answering, this phone almost completely covers Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean in the UX skin. Specs are rather impressive too, with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, a gorgeous high-res IPS LCD 1080p display and either 16GB or 32GB options for the internal storage. Only time will tell if this can rival the Samsung Galaxy S4 in terms of sales, and popularity.

8. Motorola Moto X

The first phone designed with the help of Motorola's parent company Google comes packed with nifty gesture tech, along with a whole host of customisation options. You'll be able to choose between black and white for the front plate, then a load of colourful options for the rear, ascents and even the pre-loaded wallaper. Front and center is a 4.7-inch, 720p AMOLED screen, which enables the Active Notfications function and internally there's a Motorola X8 chipset. Google Now has been improved to listen out, all the time, for the words 'Okay Google Now' and will then allow you to talk to the phone without touching it.

9. Sony Xperia Z

Sony's best smartphone yet, the Xperia Z has smashing 5-inch full-HD display with 443 ppi (compared to the iPhone 5's 324ppi) , superior 13-Megapixel camera ,chic styling and and all round excellent performance that makes the waterproof smartphone with NFC and 4G LTE one the best Android handsets to buy.

10. Samsung Galaxy Note 2

The second coming of the screen that feels like a tablet, the Note 2 brandishes a larger 5.5-inch 1280x720 AMOLED display and comes with a more intuitive and accurate S-Pen. It's got a great 8-Megapixel rear-facing camera with 1080p shooting capability, and with a 1.6GHz quadcore processor and 2GB of RAM can handle the Note 2's impressive multitasking prowess.

11. HTC One Mini

Taking the HTC One we all know and love, and shrinking it down to a slightly more pocket friendly size, while keeping most of its great features intact should prove a winner. The One Mini packs a 4.3 inch 720p display – slightly smaller than its 4.7 inch older brother – with an impressive PPI of 341. Under the bonnet there’s a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM and 16 GB for storing all your files. The unique ‘ultrapixel’ camera seen on the One is sticking around, for awesome low light shots, however both NFC and the IR blaster have been cut.
