Admission to M.Tech Courses in MDU


The Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) offers admission to M.Tech degree in subjects like Computer Science & Engineering, Software Engineering, and Biotechnology. Engineering degree in specific subjects with a minimum of 50% marks is the minimum qualification required. Admissions are done on the basis of GATE score or qualifying examination marks.

Admission Procedure for M.Tech (Computer Science & Engineering / Software Engineering) in MDU
Candidates with any of the following qualifications are eligible to apply for M.Tech (Computer Science & Engineering / Software Engineering).  
  • B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering
  • Master of Computer Applications (MCA)
  • B.E./B.Tech in Computer Engineering
  • B.E./B.Tech in Information Technology
  • M.Sc. (Computer Science/IT/Software)
  • B.E./B.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering
  • B.E./B.Tech in Electronics Engineering
  • B.E./B.Tech in Electrical & Electronics Engineering
  • B.E./B.Tech in Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering
  • B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering
  • M.Sc. (Mathematics/Physics) with at least 50% marks
Eligible candidates should have a valid GATE score in the subject of Computer Science & Engineering /Information Technology. The seats which are left unfilled on the basis GATE score are open for candidates with out GATE score also. Such candidates should qualify the entrance test conducted by MDU for the purpose of admission. Syllabus for that entrance test comprises of the following topics.

Admission Procedure for M.Tech ((Electronics & Communication Engineering) in MDU
First preference for admission is given for candidates who have obtained engineering degree in any of the following subjects.
  • Electronics & Communication Engineering
  • Electronics & Telecom Engineering
  • Electronics Engineering
The second preference will be given for candidates with engineering degree in any of the following subjects.
  • Applied Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering
  • Biomedical Engineering
  • Control Engineering
  • Electrical & Electronics Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Electronics Instrumentation & Control Engineering
  • Instrumentation & Control Engineering
  • Instrumentation Engineering

Those with educational qualifications like M.Sc in Electronics or M.Sc (Physics with specialization in Electronics) will be given third preference for admission. The required qualification must be obtained with a minimum of 50% marks. They should hold a valid GATE score. Seats which are left unfilled on the basis of GATE score are open for non GATE candidates. Admission of such candidates is done on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination.
Admission Procedure for M.Tech (Biotechnology) in MDU
First preference for admission will be given for candidates with engineering degree in any of the following subjects.
  • Bioinformatics
  • Biotechnology
  • Industrial Biotechnology
  • Life Sciences
Those candidates with any of the following qualifications will be given second preference for admission.
  • MBBS
  • B.Pharma
  • M.Sc in Biotechnology
  • M.Sc in Industrial Biotechnology
  • M.Sc in Medical Biotechnology
  • M.Sc in Medical Biotechnology
  • M.Sc in Bioinformatics
  • M.Sc in Life Sciences
  • M.Sc in Microbiology
  • M.Sc in Biochemistry

Eligible candidate should hold engineering degree in any of the following subjects.

  • Mechatronics
  • Production Engineering
  • Robotics Engineering
  • Thermal Power Engineering
The required qualification must be obtained with a minimum of 50% marks. Aspirant should hold a valid GATE score. Seats which are left unfilled on the basis of GATE score are open for non GATE candidates. Admission of such candidates is done on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination.
